Donations

Send your check to El Caldito P.O. Box 2833  Las Cruces, NM 88004

Usable food* can be donated and is welcomed. Donations are accepted at the soup kitchen through the back (east) door from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (After hours, contact Gabe Chavez at 575-644-8737). Donors are protected from liability by the federal “Good Samaritan” Act. A task-force of gleaners makes rounds in Las Cruces 7 days a week to accept donated foodstuffs from local businesses, a hospital, restaurants, grocery stores, bakeries, and producers.

Foodstuffs which are especially needed at all times include: Meats, ground coffee, canned tuna, pasta sauce, cheese, lunch meat, fresh produce, milk, salad dressing, mayonnaise, mustard, and sugar.

Some food is donated from local sources but much food and all service items must be purchased.  Excess donated foods are passed on to similar organizations feeding the hungry, including Casa de Peregrinos, La Casa Domestic Violence Shelter, Jardin de los Ninos, and Gospel Rescue Mission.

* New Mexico food handling regulations prohibit use of homemade foods.

Monetary donations can be mailed to:
